Resource Parent Grievance
As a resource parent with Twin Pines Family Services, LLC, you have certain rights. The following explains those rights and what you should do if you feel that you need to complain.
YOUR RIGHTS:

You have the right to be treated with fairness, dignity and respect.

You have the right to be treated without discrimination based on color, religion, disability, national origin, age, and gender.

You have the right to be listened to regarding agency policy and procedure.

You have the right to have a clear understanding of your role as a foster care provider and the roles of other members of the treatment team.

You have the right to involvement in all crucial decisions made by the agency regarding the foster child based on the day-to-day knowledge of the youth in your care.

You have the right to have as much continuation of your own family routine as possible.

You have the right to have support from your service coordinator and Twin Pines Family Services, when applicable.

You have the right to accept or decline a placement based on personal choice and with no negative repercussions.

You have the right to receive pertinent information about the youth and their family.

You have the right to receive help in using appropriate resources to meet the child’s needs.

You have the right to have access to youth treatment plans to be able to work on completion of goals, as set by the agency.

You have the right to have the opportunity to develop confidence to make immediate and day-to-day decisions regarding the youth.

You have the right to be considered as a permanency option for the youth if the child becomes available for permanency such as adoption or guardianship. (Youth must be placed in the home for six (6) months)

You have the right to learn and grow through your experience as a resource parent.
IF YOU THINK YOUR RIGHTS ARE NOT BEING RESPECTED

If you think your rights are not being respected, you should file a grievance form with Twin Pines Family Services, LLC.
WHAT IS A GRIEVANCE?

A grievance is like a complaint. You can fill out a grievance form if you believe that your rights have been violated or you are being treated unfairly.

You can ask anyone that you trust or feel comfortable with to help you fill out this form.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE YOU FILL OUT THE FORM?

Twin Pines will send you a letter within (10) days of receiving your form telling you that your form has been received and what actions we will take to resolve the complaint.

We will send you another letter within (30) days to tell you our resolution.

If you do not agree with our decision, you can file an appeal. The letter you get with our resolution will let you know how to file an appeal.
