If considering this path, you’ll undergo a thorough application process that includes background checks, training, and home assessments to ensure that you are prepared to support these children. Your willingness to open your heart and home can truly change lives.
BASIC QUALIFICATION
• 21 years old & older
• Pass background checks
• Alternative verifiable and sustainable income
• Reliable transportation
• Can be married or single
• Can rent or own home
• Have a spare bedroom
LICENSING PROCESS

1. Request an Application
Contact our office by phone or email to request an application packet.
2. Receive Your Application Packet
Your packet can be mailed, emailed, or picked up at our office. Once received, a supervisor will schedule a meeting for you to ask and get answers to any questions or concerns that you may have. Once you decide to move forward, a Recruiter will be assigned to guide you through the licensing process.
3. Complete Your Paperwork
Gather the required documentation and begin preparing your home for the home evaluation.
4. Home Visit
Your recruiter will schedule a home visit to review agency policies, collect completed paperwork, and conduct the required home safety inspection.
5. Complete Required Training
Successfully complete all required foster parent orientation training.
6. Application Review
Your recruiter will finalize your application by:
Completing required county and background checks
Contacting your personal references
Preparing your Family Profile
Ensuring all licensing requirements have been met
7. Licensing Decision
Once all requirements have been completed, the Supervisor will review your file and approve your foster home license. You will receive a copy of your license upon approval.
* Before your license is issued, you will have the opportunity to correct or provide any missing information or documentation if needed.
* If your application is denied, you will receive written notification explaining the reason for the decision, the applicable licensing regulation(s), and information regarding your right to appeal the agency's decision.
